Not adequate

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
No, only salt is not adequate to kill bacteria. Chlorine is required.

Hot tubs are able to kill bacteria's and viruses if the temperature of water has been at boiling point before cooling down for use.

Water if not frequently changed and is pool used publicly, it is a big source of infection.

We daily see a lot of children and adults coming with skin and ENT infections following public swimming pools use.

This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
