Brief Answer:
Contagious period of strep and mono 1 -2 weeks

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are suffering from strep and mono at the same time. As you know mono is a viral illness and will make you feel very tired and worm out for several weeks. The actual contagious period was the first few weeks after infection. So after 2 weeks you will no longer be infectious but you will still feel tired and weak.

The strep infection will be non contagious after 1-2 days of antibiotic therapy. So there is less worry of infection passed to your child and grandchildren early in the infection.

There is no concern for infection passed to your pregnant daughters infant.

In summary
1. Mono long term symptoms with contagious period of 1-2 weeks
2. Strep infectious 1-2 days after taking antibiotics.
3. Get plenty of rest because mono symptoms can last weeks to months in adults
