Noted that you are 71 years old - had fundoplication done and wants to know whether can resume to play squash at Elite level - planning for world championship eventually.
There are many a factors that will decide resuming playing:
- Any healing process has a definite timeline.
3 weeks for good healing.
3 months for regaining good strength
9 months for remodelling of tissues.
Additional points:
- Your age, if you are fit enough.
- If there are no co-morbidities like diabetes, hypertension, well controlled if you are having any of such problems.
- Advise of your operating Surgeon as he known the procedure done.
- If the surgery is successful in dealing with the symptoms for which it was done and if exercises and playing are not enhancing the symptoms.
