Question: Dear Dr, please advise prognosis for chondromalcia patella in a 46 yrs old female who also has history of lichen planus, now in remission, idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis ? Vitiligo and hypothyroid.

Chondromalacia patella usually recovers in adults with rest and painkillers / ice packs. If it is persisting then I suggest surgery is the only option left. Considering your age and other co-morbidities I would advise you to go for surgical treatment.
