Due to Dr. Shoman's answer, I'm convinced to keep this service close at hand. These days docs don't spend (or can't due time/insurance requirements) or they assume patients will go along. with doc. and not be able to understand anyway if they did. I have great health care thru VA, but i personally need to know why they are not concerned. This doctor's answer is exactly what I'm looking for

I have had an ear infection for over 2.5 months. Dr. Shoman made an accurate guess about which bacteria it was and recommended the right antibiotics which are working well so far. The only problem I had was finding a doctor in this area to treat me. Nobody wants to here what a doctor from the Internet says. If there is a way for Ask a Doctor to recommend to me a doctor in Annapolis/Baltimore that would follow Dr. Shoman's advice, that would be great.

I found your answer helpful and I increased my monitoring of my blood sugar. I had fluctuations over4/5 days. I alerted my primary. Readings seem to stabilizing back to historical levels. Reason unknown.

Although I understand a doctor will want to be cautious, the answer I received gave me no answer at all. I gave plenty of information on which to base the reply. A week later I now know the symptoms I described closely match a certain condition. It should have been possible to say that, and add the other options as well. It was definitely possible to give at least a range of possibilities as the reply. The doctor here just couldn't be bothered to make a list of the diagnostic options. This was a complete waste of money which cheated me at a time when I was upset and worried. Some basic information was all I needed.
