My 14 year old daughter has a lump on her breast and is painful. What should we do?
Hello and welcome to HCM,
A painful breast lump in a 14 year old suggests a fibroadenoma or fibrocystic disease.
For confirming the lesion, you need to undergo an aspiration cytology.
In this test the cells are aspirated with a fine needle.
The aspirated cells are spread on slide and stained.
The origin of the lesion and its character will be determined by this test and thus further workup.
