Child Have Problem With Eating

my niece was in the hospital yesterday with pneumonia and after IV antibiotics she was sent home and given an oral one which made her break out in hives. Her dr wanted to see her so her husband stayed home to drive her back (and their 2 children) to him. We are experiencing a snow storm in NJ and her 2 year old son began crying after the 3rd hour of being stuck in the car. They have been home for over 3 hours now but he has NOT stopped crying. He may fall asleep for a few minutes but wakes and is as hysterical as before. He hasnt eaten or had a thing to drink. What should she do?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
Sudden onset of crying could be due to some discomfort such as colic, pain abdomen, and ear pain.
Examine the child for any ear discomfort or tenderness in stomach.
If the child is crying continuously, I suggest you to consult the doctor for physical examination.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
