What Causes Swollen Tongue?

woke this morning and the right side of my tongue is swollen, to the point it is very difficult to speak or swallow. No sores appear to be on the tongue, and I do not think I have been exposed to anything different that would cause an allergic retain.

Dear Friend.
Hi , I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.

The most common reason for spontaneous tongue swelling is allergic reaction only. The inciting factor may not be noticeable all the time.
But it need immediate intervention. I will like to know whether there is any respiratory distress also?
History of itchy red bumps on body?

Till the time you may take antihistaminics like levocetrizine /fexofenadine and if possible get injectables antihistaminics for symptomatic relief immediately undder suervision.

This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you want to discuss your issues further, you may please ask us
