Infant With Cough And Blisters On The Head And Body. Is This Mumps?

Hi
My 5 month old baby has a slight cough for the past few days & now has developed small blister type spots on her head & torso. I am concerned it could be mumps! There are maybe about 15 spots. The only thing that I have done differently recently is to introduce very small amount of solids like pureed carrots & the past couple of days pureed melon. I don't suppose it could be an allergy??...

Please advise...thank you

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Mumps does not present like that. There will be a swelling below the ear with pain and fever.

A proper examination is required to identify the exact cause of that rash.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
