Sinus Infection, Mucus At The Back Of Throat, Blocked Nose, Cause
Hello, I currently have a sinus infection and yesterday some mucus came down the back of my throat as my nose feels completely blocked off, I was alarmed to find a fleshy lump within the mucus and examined it more closely. It was kind of pink and white in colour with tiny bits of blood (some bits looked like little blood vessels), it felt like a lump of gristle. Now I m worrying I might have a tumor at the back of my nose could you please advise me whether I should see my GP? Is it something I should be worrying about?
Hello
The lump you are worrying is most likely a ball of tightened mucus and should not be worried.
Take steam inhalation twice daily for 10 days and you shall be all right.
There is no need of any antibiotics as only 1% cases of sinusitis ever need a course of antibiotics.
In case your symptoms worsen, you may contact a ENT specialist and get a CT paranasal son uses.
Thanks
you seem to be having a bout of sinusitis, during sinusitis nasal obstruction and post nasal drip is very common, regarding your observation of a mass inside the nasal cavity needs further examination by a doctor, its better to consult an ENT surgeon or a GP
in the meantime you can do steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil which will give you temporary relief
regards
