What Is The Cure For Recurring Rashes On Neck And Chest?

I have had a recurring rash on my neck and chest since November. I stopped swimming in an indoor pool as in thought it might be the chlorine level that caused it. It subsided some but is now back and getting worse and is itching all over my body. I came to Arizona from Kansas in early January. I have been swimming in an outdoor pool in Az off and on, but have abstained from swimming for the past five days. it is now all over my body. I have been applying cortisone cream which helps the itching, but still have the rash. I have had four basil cell skin cancers removed in the past five years and have allergies for a week or so when I first arrive in AZ (sneezing and itchy eyes). Any ideas? It takes about a week for me to adjust to this area after I arrive (itching eyes and sneezing). I haven t been swimming for the past five days and the rash isn t much better. I have recently started applying cortisone cream. Helps the itching a little. Any ideas on what to do?

Hello,
Thanks for the query,
You might have developed fungal infection.
Your description matches with that.
Usually fungal infections are itchy and recurrent.
Please get a KOH mount done,
This can confirm the fungal etiology.
Treatment can be with oral antifungals as well as with topical antifungals.
Treatment must be continued for at least a month to prevent recurrance.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
