Painful Lump On The Back. Is It A Cyst Or Lipoma?

I have a bump on my back. It s been there for about a year and it gets smaller and bigger. My friend tried to massage it and it just made it really painful. We thought it was a knot, but it s too squishy to be one. And they thought it may be a cysts . But I fear it s not just under the skin. It s connected to a muscle and it causes a lot of pain on my lower back. I don t know if it s lipoma or not

Hi, Welcome to HCM
The symptoms you told denotes to a nodular fascitis or a neurofibroma.
It is difficult to comment without examining the lesion.
So, consult with a general surgeon first and if clinically needed do a Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology taken from that lesion.
Regards.
