I had a recent lab draw with result showing a normal CBC but a platelet count of 464, 2 weeks later a repeat lab showed platelet count 482 and WBC12.1 all other normal range. A consult to oncology was placed. I m thinking a preiphreal smear should be before a consult. What do you think
Dear Friend. Yes you can go for a peripheral smear testing. It would tell the morphology of your platelets. It would have been better if you could share with us the report of complete hemogram with us. I would be happy to help you.
