Is It Harmful To Give Formula Milk That Does Not Dissolve In Water?

Hi doctor, I give formula milk (dexolac )sometimes when i feel there is shortage of breast milk but am worried because it does not properly dissolve in water...I prepare with hot water . Is it harmful if it does not dissolve properly..my baby is 2 and half months old.

Thanks for your question. Yes formula milk should be properly dissolved. Generally the preparations are such that they dissolve quickly. Kindly check for dilution directions on packet. Thick milk or too diluted both are harmful for babies.

Breast milk is the best milk.
But if due to any reason you have to give formula it should have a proper consistency and should be properly mixed.
I suggest you to change brand .
