Hello and welcome to HCM,
The symptoms that you are experiencing are that of
sore throat and reflux of gastro-esophageal contents in the throat.
It is quite possible that the soreness in the throat can be due to reflux of the gastric contents in the throat.
This acid can cause soreness in the throat.
You need to take drugs which decrease the acidity in the stomach as well as drugs which inhibit the gastro-esophageal reflux.
Proton pump inhibitors are the group of drugs which prevent the reflux.
The preparation which you have been prescribed belongs to this group only.
You need to take the drug regularly as per the prescription.
Food irems that increase the acidity need to be avoided like fatty fried foods.
Instead fiber and plenty of fluids need to be taken.
The soreness in the throat will only be cleared once the reflux stops.
Thereafter, you can also undergo an upper GI
endoscopy to view the status of
esophagus and stomach.
If any abnormal area is detected, a biopsy needs to be taken.
You will have to
consult a gastroenterologist for the endoscopy.
Thanks and take care
