Does Thyroid Issue Cause Problem When Trying To Conceive ?
I am 31 years old and TTC for about 7 months, after 4 months of trying I was sent for a blood test were my thyroid came back 5.22 I was told to see a reproductive endocrinologist not to waste time, but can not get the coverage by insurance so I opted for a regular endocrinologist. I was told by my aunt that all the women on my mothers fathers side have thyroid issues that they take medication for. I was put on synthroid 25mcg by my regular pcp and referred to the endocrinologist he sent me for new blood work and after looking at my old bloodwork advised me that I have hashimotos. I never even heard of it before and maybe have 3 symptoms I can recall. My recent bloodwork aft 4 weeks of 25mcg showed thyroid at 7.2 he has upped the anti to 75mcg of the generic ( leve....something ). He seems confident if I get my thyroid under control I will get pregnant on my own. Have you ever dealt with a situation like this or are familiar with? I also just started juicing with a nutribullet but am nervouse there may be things I should stay away from, my endo told me do whatever I want. I'm just looking for some answers and am not sure if I should persue a reproductive endocrinologist?
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Hypothyroidism if kept under control (TSH should be in normal range), should not cause any problem in conception. So please don't worry & follow the advise of your endocrinologist. Wish you good health.
