Is There A Certain Regimen For High Blood Pressure?

I am a 55 yr old female. I workout 50 mins every morning M-F. I have high blood pressure & am being treated for that but would like to get off of my medication if at all possible. I have discussed this with my primary care physician & at the time I was under tremendous stress so he doubled the dose. I don't even like to take aspirin (I never do). I take vitamin supplements daily & have added different ones to better my blood pressure. When first diagnosed about three yrs ago I went directly to a health food store to take magnesium. How much should I take & is there another supplement that would help? Keep in mind I'm taking losinipril & have to ween myself off these, (with Dr.s ok of course). I guess my question is, is there a certain regimen I can take for my hbp?
Thank you,
Patty P.

Only among patients with mild hypertension who are well controlled for at least one year, it may be possible to gradually diminish or discontinue antihypertensive therapy once.
Full withdrawal may NOT be possible in patients on multiple drugs and with high blood pressure like in your case, but it may be possible to more gradually taper antihypertensive doses and agents.
So it would be good to discuss with your medical doctor to lower your initial dose, but not on your own. It could be dangerous by high blood pressure to stop taking your medicine.
