Treatment For Saliva In Back Of Throat?

Yesterday I had a really scratchy dry throat and when I would lay down to try and rest I had excess saliva in my mouth and kept needing to swallow it tickles the back of my throat and makes me feel like gagging.. This morning not really a scratchy throat anymore but still lots of saliva when I lay down that I can t sleep . What can I do ?

HI. This saliva which you think is in fact the post-nasal drip, meaning the liquid secretions from the nose trickle down the throat in lying down position. Use the nasal decongestant and steam inhalations. You may also need antibiotics and oral decongestant medicines , which can be prescribed by your treating Doctor ony. So you need ti visit an ENT surgeon preferably.
