What Is The Cause For Mucus, Skin Hurting And Chills?
3 weeks and counting my husband has been sick for three weeks now and its still going on. it started with a lot of dranage that settled in his chest, then moved to his nose, its is now back in his chest with the continuing color or green which is why he started taking muscanex. a couple of weekends ago i think on top of that he caught the belly bug because for 24hrs he was vomiting and couldnt keep water down. we went to the er and the gave him an antibiotic for a uri. the pills are gone and he still has the mucus and now he is complaining about his skin hurting and chills. he was running a fever of 101 last night that quickly went away. he is drinking nothing but water and doesnt smoke. we are runnjng out of options.
Hello I appreciate your concern for your husband Looking at your description it seems to be upper respiratory tract infection or chronic allergy.
If I were his treating doctor I would have advised him for a battery of tests like blood for CBC, Hemoglobin, liver function test or an X ray chest. He may require a course of antibiotics preferably penicillin or azithromycin group of drugs under supervision of doctor.
Meanwhile ask him to take steam inhalation, deep breathing exercises, warm saline gargles You can give him honey mixed with few drops of ginger juices Anti allergic like levocetirizine are also recommended for symptomatic relief.
Hope this answers your question Best wishes
