Sensitivity Is Ranging From 99.8/99.85% & Specificity - 99.55/99.06%
hi sir i gone through a hiv test after 3 month of doubtful infection.... the result i got through tridot method is negative... bt i had a doubt on senstivity nd specificity %..... my sensitivity of hiv 1 is 99.8 % nd specificity of hiv 1 is 99.55 %and senstivity of hiv 2 is 99.85% and specificity of hiv 2 is 99.06%..... sir please tell me is everything is ok or i should go for another test.... thannk u
u reports says ur status for HIV inf is NEGATIVE,,,
still the companies quotes the factual sn & SP,,,any test cant give 100% test result, invariably some INDEterminate results will be found & it could be neglected,,,
SN- it is to find out the true infection,in this case 99.8% sure it can detect the positive infection. SP- to exclude the infection, in this case it says 99.5 % u r not infected,,,
