Dear Rubina... Welcome to healthcaremagic forum...
Prognosis of a cancer depends on various factors. Current general conditions, presence of other medical illness, nutritional state and so on are few general factors that determine the prognosis. HER 2 neu receptor is one such factor deciding the prognosis of breast cancer with HER 2 negative having better prognosis in terms of survival and recurrent rate
Theoretically and statistically speaking, 5 year survival chances with metastatic breast cancer is 25-30%. She needs to continue on chemotherapy as long as it is useful, supported by good nutrition and other measures. Treatment needs to be monitored by primarily by an oncologist.
However since numerous factors decide the prognosis, from this far it is hard to predict what can be expected with your mother. Our prayers with your mom; wishing her the best.
Regards
