my 9 year old son just informed us Tuesday night that he can't hear as well in his left ear as he can in his right. he stated that it had been this way for about a year. He told us right after we had used alcohol to clean out his ears following a swim team meet to help dry the ear faster, he screamed from pain in that ear...but not the other. (ph balance in that ear different than the other?). We had the pediatrician do a check on his ears yesterday...everything looks fine...tube, ear drum...so something on the inner ear? He failed the hearing exam...device used to measure sounds, by about 50%. We are scheduled to see an ENT but our ENT doesn't have a spot open until June 24. Suggestions?
