hello.I am 75 yrs old, female. Live in Venezuela, Have Diabetes, high blood pressure and bipolar. Take Metformin 500 mg bid. Atenolol 50 mg bid. Lamotrigine 100 mg bid For sleep, Zolpidem 6.25 at night.
I had to go to ER 2 days ago for an abscess in my armpit. We are in Carnival now, so everyone leaves the city, including doctors. The doctor who examined me prescribed Dalacin (Clndamycin), 300 mg, 4 times a day. I took them. However 24 hours later my bp went up to 220-110. I went back to ER. Saw another dr who gave me Adalat Oros and Captopril and put me in observation. My blood pressure went down to normal. My question is, could it be that Clindamycin made my bp go up. Does it interact with any of my meds. Also, I have colon diverticles and Clindamycin is not recommended if you have colon problems.
