Symptoms have no measure of HIV . She may not have any symptoms for years depending upon her immune status.
But your friend must test himself at 90 of exposure too , to be absolutely sure of his status .

Hello,

After exposure it can take up to 6 months to develop detectable HIV antibodies. These state is called a seroconversion which takes from 2 weeks to 6 months.

Your friend should have an HIV test within 3 months of His/Her possible exposure to HIV and next should be retested 3 months after that first test. If the second test will be negative as well as the first one Your friend is not HIV infected.

He or She may experience flu-like symptoms within 2-4 weeks after HIV infection however with these symptoms doctor can not say if He/She is HIV positive/negative.

These symptoms are:
fever which is the most common symptom,
swollen glands,
muscle and joint pains,
headache,
rash,
sore throat.
Please note that all of these symptoms can be caused by other illnesses.

In my opinion Your friend should be retested after 6 month of possible exposure to HIV.

Hope I have answered Your query. If You have any further questions I will be happy to help.
