Would Taking Methotrexate Bring Hcg Levels Down To Make Pregnancy Undetectable?
I am over 3 weeks do for my period, i take methotrexate once a week for R.A. 1 week ago i took a pregnancy test and it was neg. I m 38y never have a missed a period except when pregnant with my 2 girls. what could be happening. If I was pregnaant on methotrexate would that bring the hcg levels down and undetectable?
Methotrexate can cause serious fetal defects when taken during pregnancy. HCG levels may reduce following the drug use.I would suggest you to take pregnancy test by 10 days of missed period which will avoid any false negative results. If pregnancy is positive, whether to continue the pregnancy or not should be decided.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
