Would Ruptured Discs Cause The Limbs To Become Numb?

I have severe back pain and my legs and hands and arms are numb. My legs give out on me and I fall. I can t pick up anything with my right hand because it is so numb and I can t feel it. I have fell twice tonight. My neurosurgeon says I have ruptured discs and I am waiting to schedule surgery next week. It gets worse everyday. Would ruptured discs cause your limbs to be numb?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Ruptured and bulging disc might compress the nerves and can cause numbness of limbs.
Generally the symptoms will improve after the surgery.
Wishing you good health.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
