General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Ritalin is generally given to children suffering from Atention deficit hyperactive disorder.
The dosage in children above 6 years of age usually should not be more than 60mg daily.
It is initially started with low doses given 2 to 3 times a day (10mg daily)and gradually increased.
Kindly reconfirm from your doctor regarding the medication dosage. It looks like there has been a mistake.
Regards,
Dr.Riyanka
