Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. The CT scan of head is not a good investigation to pick aneurysm. It is good to detect bleed caused by aneurysm rupture or due to any other reason.
Aneurysm rupture causes bleed between brain and its covering layer arachnoid which is known as subarachnoid haemorrhage. This bleeding causes very
severe headache which is described as "the worst headache of life". This headache is usually associated with vomiting,
blurred vision,
loss of consciousness.
Unraptured aneurysm usually cause headache when large in size (>2cm). This type of headache is mild, dull aching, not associated with vomiting/loss of consciousness, occurs in episodes, usually ignored by patients.
Coming to diagnosis, aneurysm is best detected by 3D-CT or MR angiography of brain vessels.
Your
constant headache could be due to other reason like
: tension headache
: hypertensive headache
: migraine
: headache due to head injury
It can be confirmed if you can provide more details of your headache by asking another question or you can
consult doctor for it.
Hope it will help you. Thanks. Take care.
