Will The Pain In My Index Finger Subside? Will The Range Of Motion Improve?

I recently received a laceration on my index finger that required stitches. The area around the stitches is swollen and sore. I can move my finger back but moving it forward causes some pain. It has been a week. Will the pain subside and will my range of motion improve
