Will The Lump In The Anal Area Go Away On Its Own?

Hello, my son is 14 years old and he says that he has a lump in his anal area. He also says it is causing him no pain or discomfort at all, it s just there. So will it just go away eventually? He has changed his diet and does not have any blood in his stool and never has constipation or trouble going to the toilet. He couldn t care less whether its there or not, so now that he has changed his diet, will it go away eventually? And approximately how long?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A swelling in anal region needs to be examined.
Anal region is a very rare site for any lump thus clinical assessment is necessary.
Constipation or any gastrointestinal tract problems will not cause lump in the anal region.
Anal region is also a rare site of lymph nodes, thus, possibility of lymph node enlargement is unlikely.
Soft tissue swelling can cause lump in the anal region.
Thus, clinical assessment is necessary.

Thanks and take care
