Pediatric Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, an injury leading to ascent of testis in abdomen has to be investigated. If, it comes down on its own or by some manipulation, nothing to worry but if it is not coming down then further investigations has to be done to find out the cause of ascent.
If, it is not at all palpable in the groin region, a diagnostic laparoscopy may be performed and location and condition of the testis may be seen and if possible bring down the testis to the scrotum in the same setting.
If, it is palpable in the groin region and is not coming down with manipulation, that means there might be injury to the cord structures which on fibrosis have pulled the testis up. This needs an inguinal exploration and further pulling down the testis in the scrotum and fixing it into a new scrital pouch.
Please meet a paediatric surgeon for the above.
