Will Swollen Lower Back Due To Wrong Landing From Snowboarding Cure By Icing And Rest ?

Hi. I was snowboarding the other day and I took a jump and messed it up and landed straight on my back. it was hard to get up at first but i was eventually able to finish the run. Its been two days and still feels tight and swollen or bruised.from my lower back to half way down my butt. My neck is sore as well. I've been icing, and resting it when I can but it actually feels best when I'm standing and walking around. I can bend in almost 100% range of motion, but everything just feels tight because it feels swollen.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

It all depends how strong was the injury. Usually such injury causes nothing more than soft tissues trauma which needs few days or week to get healed.
However sometimes ribs fracture or even spine injury can occur. That is why I suggest you to visit a doctor and have physical examination.
In case of fractures possibility, X-rays should be done.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
