Will Surgery For Pilonidal Abscess Help Deal With Fissure?

3 weeks ago i had surgery for pilonidal abscess.a fissure which i thought had caused the abscess is still there.i am still having dressing packed and that is nearly healed.the fissure is now causing pain and has puss coming out.i am on antibiotics.my district nurse said this should have been noticed when i was having surgery and should be removed.will the fissure cause more abscesses.thankyou

Your district nurse is quite right, the fissure may or may not be the cause/source of the previous abscess but it was important to remove it. I would recommend a revisit to your doctor and pointing this out to them so they resolve the issue at the earliest.
