Hello and welcome to HCM,
Painful urination can occur due to urinary tract infection or sexually transmitted infections.
A positive herpes simplex virus infection (HSV) Ig G antibody suggests a past infection with herpes simplex virus.
The infection transmits by sexual route.
The infection can be prevented by practicing protected and safe sex.
However, the infection will not have any effect on your fertility.

Thanks and take care
Dr Shailja P Wahal
