Will Lengthy Periods Lead To Infertility?

hello doctor, My wife has long periods which takes more than 45 days, will it lead to infertility. Her last period was on Dec 31. Her previous period was on Nov 31. So we went to consult a doctor locally and she prescribed a tablet which either regulates periods or support pregnancy. Also suggested for scanning right after 14 days of tablet consumption. On scanning all here organs are in proper size and measurement except the follicles which are not appeared in 8Mm. Hence doctor suggested to have follicle acid tablet. Now she is consuming it from this 15th on wards. I want to know whether this symptom is common or will lead to conceiving problems

Hi.

Many women nowadays have such irregularities in their menstrual cycle, mainly because of the lifestyle and dietary patterns. The pattern she is going through should not result in infertility, yet she needs to work with her doctor towards regulating her menstrual cycle in a more regular pattern.

A 45-day cycle is not too bad, but it can be better; anywhere close of a 35 day period will also work just fine. Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
