Will Kapra Cause Hair Loss And Weight Gain?

I'm highly sensitive to medicines and I have seizures due to head injuries from a car accident and want to know if taking Kapra (Levetiracetam 500 mg) will cause hair loss and weight gain? Or will taking Valium be a better choice and less invasive to take for seizures and depression? I appreciate your feedback!

Hello,
Your doctor has prescribed you an anti seizure medicine i.e Levetiracetam used in treatment of convulsions or seizures.
Levetiracetam is generally a well tolerated drug and has less side effects as compared to other anti seizure medicines. The side effects you are observing like hair loss and weight are most probably not due to this medicine. My suggestion is have consult to your doctor for these and take proper treatment. There is no need change this medicine now but if you observe any other side effects then tell your doctor then he will decide whether to change or not.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.
