Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, you will definitely improve if you stop alcohol. Here you are having grade 2 fatty liver and elevated ggt level, so if you will not stop alcohol than chances of chronic hepatitis and further liver damage is there. Your life style also should be improved and daily exercise should be done. More fruits should be eaten, use less oil in cooking and use only good oil like sunflower oil.

Estimate your cholesterol levels also. If cholesterol is high then medication for that is needed. Cheese, butter, fried chicken, pork, meat, refined carbohydrate etc should be avoided. Udiliv syrup and vitamin E also should be started here. Once fatty liver resolution and liver enzymes values comes to normal, then only moderate alcohol drinking can be done. Until then stop taking it. Consult a physician for examination with keeping all this in mind.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
