Welcome to HCM.

If he regularly goes to gym and suddenly stop to go.Is it like that..?

It will definitely affect his muscles if he stopped .There will be some reduce in muscle mass and may become flabby after some time.

If he don't want to go to gym, than he can do all routine muscle exercise at home to maintain the tone.

General & Family Physician Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale's  Response
Going to gym definately gives good shape to body, strength, stamina&health too.
somebody goes to gym for some days ,he gets all the advantages one by one.&after stopping ofcourse, looses them! It's not a fast prosses though,no exercises &sedentory life may turn one's body bulky, fatty ,lethargic leading to a filthy look in years to come! so one must try to continue healthy habbit of gym exercises for a graceful life &personality.
