Will A Patient Diagnosed With Transverse Myletis Be Able To Travel In A Flight?

Uncle was diagnosed with transverse myletis while on vacation visiting family in Sicily. He is being treated in hospital in Palermo, but wants to get back to the states. Is this possible with his condition? He is having difficulty feeling sensation in his legs currently.

Yes, it is possible for him to travel with this condition. He may be at a wheelchair during traveling and on low molecular weight heparins in order to avoid possible deep vein thrombosis, which is a common complication of this disorder. You should know that this condition may cause paralysis in the lower limbs or four limbs, depending on the affected level of the spine.
