Will Ibuprofen Be Safe For Fever And Cough?

My 7 year old son normally very healthy woke with a temp of 101. Ibuprofen worked, but 5 hours later it returned. Dosed after 6.5 hours, worked again. After 5 hours it has returned. He is tired, light cough, and headache. No loss of appetite. Should we be concerned or most likely a rough cold?

Hello

Thanks for the query

Ibuprofen is safe for treating fever however a better drug for fever would be acetaminophen ( paracetamol). Ibuprofen has no role in cough. I would like you to take a cough syrup instead like syp ambrolite s. If the fever and cough does not settle down in 3 days then please visit your GP

I hope I was of help

Regards
