Why The Circumvallate Papillae Are Swollen With Pus Pockets In The Back Of The Throat?

I have a sore throat, my ears are bothering me and feel like they have fluid in them, it's hard to swallow, I feel like I have something in the back of my throat that I can't get rid of when swallowing. I looked and my circumvallette papullie are swollen. Didn't even know where they were till I look it up. I also have a couple of pus pockets in the back of my throat. I've never experienced this before.
