Why Should A Blood Test Be Done After Surgical Abortion?

I had a surgical abortion 6 days ago. Two days after they did blood work. I was called today and the doctor said that he wants me to do more blood work. The levels have dropped but he still wants me to do more blood work. Is this normal? Should I be concerned

Hello,
No need to be concerned but they do need to follow blood levels to make sure they go back to normal after an abortion. This assures them that they got all the material out of the uterus.
This is routine, do not worry.
