Why My Bowel Is Greenish In Colour?

Hi, This week I have just started taking the Yasminelle pill and from day two, I noticed that my bowel turned to greenish in colour. I am thinking that this is one of its side effects, or is it a coincidence? I am also a bit sick at the moment as I have a cold.

Hi,
Yasminelle is a hormonal contraceptive pill and does not cause a stool color change.
In my patients with greenish stool and normal stool consistency I would look for any change in the diet. Usually green vegetables cause stool color change. Antibiotics and several gut infections also change stool color with increased bowel movements and cause loose stools (diarrhea).
I suggest to see a doctor if the greenish stool persist.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
