Why Lying On The Left Side Caused Head Spinning?

my husband woke up last night and the room was spinning around. He was laying on his left side at the time, he also felt very nauseous and after a little while had large diarrhea. Now every time he lays on his left side the room spins and he feels like throwing up, What could this be??

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Spinning of the room around is called vertigo. Since this has occurred with loose motions and nausea there can be gastroenteritis that caused the septicemia and imbalance of fluid in one of the semicircular canals of the ear causing spinning when turning the head to the left side.
I would advise him the following in such a situation:
Rush to the ER or nearby hospital to get admitted for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations for getting the correct diagnosis and thus a proper management.
He needs treatment for gastroenteritis, for vertigo.
Bed-rest till cured and should not be alone as this can cause falling down with its complications.
