Why Is There Pain In My Temples, Forehead And Around My Eyes?

I was hit in the nose about 3 weeks ago. I don't think it was broken, but it was sore for about a week. It no longer hurts, but I have been having frequent headaches in my temples, forehead, and around and under my eyes. Is this related? Should I get it checked out?

Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. This pain could be due to stuffiness in nose due to collection of blood, mucus or sinusitis. It can be checked by ENT specialist. For confirmation, CT nose/face and sinus can be done.

For relief, you can follow few tips

- Steam inhalation 4-6 times a day

- Use saline nasal drops 4-6 times to open nose and sinuses.

- You can use nasal decongestant like xylometazoline for blockade nose

- for pain relief, you can take diclofenac with paracetamol after proper prescription

- If sinusitis, you must take antibiotic like coamoxyclav or azithromycin or azithro+levofloxacin combination after proper prescription.

Hope it will help. Thanks. Take care
