Hi

I have had six ear infections in the past year and a half. Now currently the vein just under my rightear keeps swelling and I feel pain all of the time even though I am told no infection is present. What could this be? I get buzzing and fullness constantly also.. it is a constant pain for months now.

Hi thanks for asking question.....

You have six ear infection in one year....
So rule out diabetis by random blood sugar , as in diabetis repeated infection can occur....
If eat remain moist often then repeated fungal infection can be there.
Check by Ent surgeon your ear with help of otoscopy for ear infection and tympanic membrane status...
If perforation present in ear drum needs repaired....

Now you have enlarge vein present.which is painful.
If sign of systemic infections present and vein much prominent with pain then biopsy taken to rule out vasculitis.
Steroid might need for it....

Take care.
Consult ent surgeon for proper examination .........
