Why Is The Roof Of The Mouth Hurting After Finishing Antibiotics?

My son is 11 years old. He has just gotten off antibotics. Now the roof of his mouth stated hurting yesterday. He says it hurts to swallow, but his throat really don' t hurt. I really didn't see anything on the roof of his mouth. Do you have any suggestions as to what is wrong? He also has a fatty looking lesion on his lower inner lip. It's very noticable & he has dad this for over a year. Thank you.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain hurting of the roof of mouth seems to be due to inflammation of the tlroof of mouth that can be due to throat infection while can also be due to injury caused with some hard foods or hot food. A fatty bump can be due to causes like a Fibroma or a Hemangioma..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations as per suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now you can give him Acetaminophen for pain and do warm saline gargles..
Give him a soft diet and plenty of fluids..
Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine can help..
