Why Is My Newborn Passing Dry Stools After Giving Gaviscon For Reflux?

My baby is 18 weeks old and is on gaviscon for reflux. Since having this his poo has become dry and flakey. However he is at the moment on antibiotics (ammoxicillin) for a chest infection and hes pooing after every feed or more (more than he used to) and it seems even dryer than normal? I have been offering water in between feeds. Is this normal? X

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
The dry stools are due to the side effect of Gaviscon You are using for reflux.
To be more sure better stop the drug for a few days and see.
Passing motion after each feed is normal due to gastrocolic reflex.
Offering more fluids is OK.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
Take care
