Asthma may worsen at night and is particularly common among children who have family members with asthma. There are various presentations and triggers for asthma symptoms, including illness. It would be advisable to monitor her temperature for fever, keep her well hydrated, and to see your physician to determine if she needs an inhaler or other treatment. Other information that would be helpful to your GP : is there an associated rash?, are her immunizations up to date?, is anyone at home ill? If you have a recording of her cough, my practice PRMG focuses on children with respiratory disorders. The email address is: pulmd@aol.com.Thank you for your question.
