Why Is Arm Movement Difficult?
I have three bulged discs in the thoracic spine, touching spinal chord with no compression . To turn my head/neck in any direction is very painful as well as lifting the left arm, with pain running from left side of neck to behind left pectoral. The pain is not affected with the application of external pressure. After seeing a rheumatologist I was assured the pain is muscoskeletal and not at all related to disc herniation. I also suffer from numbness in the arms ;a dead arm feeling. Any advice will be appreciated as I have been told to live with the pain. Thankyou

You have not mentioned your cervical spine finding. Neck pain with weak am is due to nerve compression in the neck and not in thorax, so I would suggest you to check if you have MRi of the cervical region or thoracic. And if you do not have MRI of the cervical region then please get it done. Then only we can decide abut further management.
